As an Animal Care Technician, your role involves collaborating with a team of scientists and technicians to guarantee the compassionate and meticulous execution of research in our facilities, adhering to statutory regulations, policies, and maintaining high standards.

Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) with proficiency in English, Maths, and Science (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience as an animal technician with expertise in rodent husbandry.
- Essential experience with IVCs.
- Competency in Schedule 1 is advantageous.
- Desirable experience with necropsy and tissue sampling.
- Understanding of biosecurity and proficient use of PPE.
- Willingness to undergo training as per Home Office requirements.
- Genuine passion for animal welfare.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Routine animal husbandry: handling, feeding, watering, health checks, and environmental enrichment.
- Bring animal welfare concerns to the attention of the facility NACWO.
- Assist in ensuring laboratories are stocked with consumables.
- Cleaning and sterilization of cages and equipment.
